How should I prepare for my appointment?
  • Remove all eye makeup prior to arriving to you appointment; If you arrive to your appointment with makeup or residue of any kind on your lashes, La Vie cannot guarantee the retention or health of your lashes.
  • Avoid coffee if it makes you jittery

What type of lashes are best for me?
  • We recommend checking out our Lash Bar Menu.  It gives descriptions of each type of lash set we offer and who they are best for.
  • Your desired look and what type of lashes will work best with your natural lashes/eye shape is what ultimately determines our recommendation.
  • Lash artists have different styles.  We also recommend you use the Instagram links on the Artist Bio page to check out each artist's work.

Is the adhesive safe?
  • Yes.  La Vie  uses medical grade adhesives and removers that do not contain preservatives or other chemicals that some adhesives contain.
  • We also dispose of our glue monthly to maximize hold time and decrease irritation.
  • Allergic reactions are rare but can occur and will resolve once the allergen is removed.

What are the lashes made of?
  • Borboleta Beauty lashes are made of a high quality faux mink material made of unique synthetic yarn fibers resembling very close to human hair.  The man-made fibers are designed to imitate real eyelashes.

How do I care for them?
  • Avoid products with oils on or around your lashes; use an oil-free makeup remover or cleanser.  Be mindful of conditioner in the shower.
  • Do not rub, pull, or try to rip off your lashes; if you are experiencing irritation, contact La Vie immediately.
  • Keep lashes clean by using Borboleta Beauty recommended cleansing techniques.
  • Wash your face before bed.  Silk pillows will also help retention.
  • Brush lashes only when they are dry.

Can I get my extensions wet, swim with them, etc.?
  • It is a myth that you cannot get your extensions wet.  In fact, by not cleaning or wetting your lashes, you are causing debris, dirt, and oil to build up which is the most damaging thing you can do to the lash retention and your natural lash/eyelid health.

How should I schedule if I currently have eyelash extensions from another establishment?
  • We do not offers fills over work done from another establishment.  You should book a removal and full set, or wait until your previous lash extensions have completely fallen off and schedule a full set.

Can I wear mascara/eye makeup?
  • It is not recommended and most clients feel mascara/liner is not neccessary and love that it saves time during their morning makeup routine.
  • Mascara can weight down the lashes and cause premature shedding and/or damage to your natural lash.  It is very hard to remove from the extensions and makes cleaning them difficult.
  • We recommend using a lash-friendly makeup remover prior to cleaning your lashes at night if you have any makeup on or around the eye area.

Can I still wear my contacts?
  • Yes.  However, you may be more comfortable removing them during your appointments since your eyes will be closed for an extended period of time.  Lift your actual eyelid rather than lifted your eyelashes when taking them in and out.
